Speaker Rebecca Journey, Doctoral Candidate, Department of Anthropology, The University of Chicago will discuss this dissertation chapter which develops an ontology of energy and an ethics of expenditure through a political ecology of bicycle infrastructure in Copenhagen, Denmark. Asking how the Danish transit model exploits embodied pleasures of commuting as a means to maximally efficient emissions, it offers a social theory of enjoyment as a renewable resource.
